Hi all, I noticed after a clean install of Win 10 Pro that in the Device Manager I had two "Standard SATA AHCI Controller" entries that showed the driver dated in 2006. So I downloaded the latest version of SATA drivers at the Asus ROG site for my motherboard.

I've got a question that ive always wondered when it came to the sata/raid drivers. I'm currently on a Raid 0 Install, Win8 64, Z87 mobo with drivers 12.7.0.1036 and EFI sata driver 12.7.0.1936.

Shall I just use "update" driver from device manager, then install the new RST ?

My thought were, since it's installed on the SD cards that I could get another T420 (which I have) that has the same controller, install VMWARE on that system then put them in the production box, rescan the adapters for storage and then import my VM's. A couple questions I have are..that possible or is there a way to update the drivers in the original system without issues?
